Not because it will destroy the contents of your OS, it won't. In regards to the Drive Wiper, unless it's really needed, I highly advise against using this on the "C" partition. The 35x wipe (Guttman) is plain out overkill & in reality, is no more effective than the 7x wipe.
Normally, the DOD method of wiping (3x) is plenty, 7x should cover for extremely sensitive data.
However, there's a few nooks & crannies that CCleaner misses, but it does unload a lot of crap.
CCleaner (formerly Crap Cleaner) which updated versions today, is perhaps the best & easy to use file deleter, plus it does empty the Recycle Bin.
